From October 17 to 21, 2025, the 9th International Symposium on Polymer Chemistry (PC2025) was held in Changchun. The award ceremony and academic presentation session for the 19th Feng Xinde Polymer Prize took place on the afternoon of October 19.
Professor Zhaobin Qiu from the CMSE at BUCT was invited to deliver an academic report titled Structure and properties of biobased and biodegradable polymers. His paper published in Polymerin 2024, Synthesis, crystallization behavior and mechanical property of biodegradable poly(butylene succinate-co-2-methyl succinate) copolyesters (Polymer2024, 303, 127114), received the Best Paper Award (Nomination) of the 19th Feng Xinde Polymer Prize. The first author of the paper is Wenxin Yao, a master's graduate of the class of 2025 from CMSE, with Professor Zhaobin Qiu serving as the corresponding author. The paper reports on the synthesis, crystallization behavior, and mechanical properties of novel biodegradable PBS-based copolyesters. This marks the second time Professor Qiu has received this honor, following his previous Best Paper Award (Nomination) at the 16th Feng Xinde Polymer Prize in 2022.
