To enhance safety awareness and emergency response capabilities among faculty and students, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, in collaboration with the Security Office of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, conducted an emergency drill focused on pressure vessel safety on November 12, 2024.
The drill simulated a pressure vessel leakage incident, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of the emergency plan and improve participants' emergency response capacity. Throughout the exercise, students displayed commendable safety awareness and teamwork spirit. They took response measures swiftly to ensure the safety of the site. In addition, staff from the Security Office and the university's firefighting team arrived promptly to lead and coordinate the emergency response efforts, demonstrating their expertise in emergency management.
In the future, the School of Materials Science and Engineering will continue to carry out safety education initiatives and regularly organize practical emergency response drills. These efforts will effectively enhance the safety awareness, sense of responsibility, and emergency response skills of faculty and students, ensuring the safety of laboratories and the orderly conduct of scientific research activities.
